is a self taught artist who does realistic pastel portraits. Lisa prefers the realistic style because it catches the eye immediately. It invites the viewer to participate in the surveyance of possible inconsistencies as well as marvel at the accomplishment. Pastel is pure pigment that's mixable, vibrant, versatile, affordable and stands the test of time. Lisa has found this medium to be invaluable for portraiture and commissions.

Lisa offers commissions for custom realistic portraits and has done so professionally for the last 5-6 years. She has improved her style that has always been colorful and rich, but now maintains a more polished technique in a contemporary way.

 

Lisa has always believed art is her calling. Her high school art teachers asked her to join their intensive art program and there, she was introduced to multiple art disciplines, mediums and techniques. Lisa found that experience fulfilling, purposeful and life-saving. Later, when she found pastel and portraits, her future had found its path.

While there have not been a list of educational or professional accolades for Lisa, she is fine with that considering the joy her art brings to others and herself. Well into her 50's, Lisa remains excited about this time in her life and what the future will bring. She was very proud to exhibit her work in 2023 at The City of Cleveland's  Women's Month Celebration in City Hall, along with several other women artists.

If Lisa could paint her future, it would be completely art related and successful. These days, Lisa is acquiring portrait commissions but is looking forward to having a waitlist 9-12 months out. She is looking forward to teaching her style of pastel portrait painting/drawing on social media, posting timelapse videos of her drawing and painting on YouTube, and selling her artwork as prints. Lisa is also fluent in creating pastel cityscapes, landscapes and cloudy skies full of drama. In between portraits and the business of art, she is doing these as well as abstract paintings in various mediums.

Lisa Hutson has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. She was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and continues to reside in the greater Cleveland area.
